School
Improvement
A charter school's
mission must truly get at the core of the reason why the school exists.
The mission of James C. Wright Middle School is to successfully educate
all students with the knowledge, skills, and confidence required to participate
fully in an evolving global society by providing...
- comprehensive,
integrated, thematic learning;
- a multicultural/multi-ethnic
curriculum and staff;
- innovative, flexible
ways of teaching and learning; and
- an environment
characterized by challenge, support and respect
through...
- participatory decision-making
by students, families, and all staff about school affairs;
- student involvement
in many aspects of their learning;
- small class sizes;
- recruitment and
retention of students and exemplary staff;
- extensive use of
technology and the arts; and
- partnerships with
families, business, educational, cultural, and community resources.
Wright Middle School's
mission is in support of the objectives oultined by the Madison Metropolitan
School District:
- MMSD will have
a graduation rate of 100%
- One hundred percent
of students will successfully complete their chosen individual academic
programs.
- Within a year of
graduation, 100% of graduates will continue their success in a post
secondary educational program or be self-sufficient in another endeavor.

James C.
Wright Wright Middle School pursues two distinct avenues for improving
the quality of their school.
- Annually,
all teachers, administrators and staff participate in the formal district-wide
School Improvement Process.
The process includes
setting specific goals and objectives each year.
- Special
events throughout the school year contribute to the positive climate
in the school.
