Principal's View
James C. Wright Middle School---begun as Middle School 2000---has had four principals (one as interim) since opening in 1994. Dr. Offie Hobbs, hired from the Kansas City School District, was principal from the time the school opened in December of 1993 until his resignation in August, 1997. District veteran and Lincoln Elementary School principal Carolyn Stanford-Taylor was appointed interim principal for the 1997-98 school year, with Rollie Willans serving as her on-site administrator. Ed Holmes, hired from Madison's own West High School, was hired in April, 1998 and now Evans, who has concluding a one-year stint as interim principal at Wright MS, and has become Wright's permanent principal. She came to Wright MS in 1999 as a classroom teacher and was the school's learning coordinator for three years. From 1976 to 1999, she was an elementary level classroom teacher at Muir, Leopold, Lincoln and Randall Schools in Madison. Evans holds a master's degree in educational leadership from Cardinal Stritch University. This section details issues of particular concern to school administrators but should prove interesting for all members of the school community.
